tlug: Installing Linux over a network

let's say i have a pentium machine, and all it's got is a net card, and a
hard drive. No keyboard, no mouse, no CD-ROM drive.
I also have a network which consists of entirely NT and IRIX machines.
Can i install linux onto the pentium totally by network? My confusion
starts when i imagine formatting the drive: won't the pentium cease to see
the network and make it impossible to continue an installation?
