Um, Scott, the thread is about embedded systems control.  If
Frederic's boxes are on the Internet, his customers have more problems
than worrying about SVGAlib.

I'm not advocating use of SVGAlib; I'm advocating appropriate
solutions.  If Frederic's system is already working without X, adding
X is a low priority.

GUI is a good thing, no doubt about it.  But often other aspects of
the UI are more important (like kanji, in Frederic's case).
