It required a one-line patch.  It's worth 10,000 yen to make a one-line
patch and recompile ppp.o :)  and it speaks standard AT commands.  Not
knowing Japanese, I was able to piece together a working config out of the
windows driver .inf files and the Japanese manual, from my prior
knowledge of standard AT commands. 

May I remind you that... oh, yeah, THIS part of my rant should go into
advocacy.
