Is there any way to stop this from happening?  (Hmm.. maybe next 
time I install a new distribution I'd better unplug my boot 
drive.  I know THAT will work.)  I would have hoped that unless you
changed partitions on the drive, or installed LILO to it, that it
wouldn't be touched.
