RE: tlug: linux.org down all week



Jonathan,

I appreciate the enthusiastic response you have given to my remarks. You are
probably right, and I am way wrong on this one. I certainly didn't mean to
disparage the reality of Linux support; I was mainly talking about the bad
PR from having a central Linux Web site, www.linux.org, fall prey to a
dispute with a second-tier ISP.

Indeed, actual Linux support is the best there is in the real world, as
opposed to the world seen through the eyes of corporate management.

It's also clear that I need to take a break from these discussions, even as
the advocacy list is about to be born. So I'm going away, not mad, but with
sincere appreciation for the vigorous efforts of all Tlugers to promote the
"little OS that could".

(P.S.: If SuSE ever gets their act together and sends me their distribution,
and when I get around to installing it, I may be back with some real
technical questions for a change.)
