Actually, it's a 'special' version.  It doesn't have many of the extras,
such as on-line help,  so it's continuing in their tradition of having 
WordPerfect be shareware, try before you buy.  However, it does sound as if 
this time the 'cripple-ware' version won't be nearly as crippled.  (Version 
7? refused to work after 14 days or so, requiring a reinstallation from the 
tar ball.)

It will be interesting to see how slim this special version will be.  If
Corel has walked the line between usability and features right, they may
just get a lot of people hooked enough to buy the full version.

Speaking of which, has anybody seen the CD-Rom version for sale anywhere 
here in Tokyo?
