tlug: [Q] Existence of Japanese talk program

Hello,
does anyone know if there exists a talk program capable of displaying and
accepting input of Japanese text?  I read of a reference to Japanese
input working with a UNIX program called phone, but I have never heard
of phone except on VMS.  If such a program exists for Linux, where
can I get more information?
