I've done it here.

It works when the following conditions are true:

* LILO is installed on the superblock of the linux partition.
* That partition is marked active.
* The NT partition is FAT, not NTFS.

You might be able to get away with installing LILO on the MBR, but I
wouldn't recommend it.  NT's disk manager plays games with the MBR.
