tlug: HDD failure






There is a company called Ontrack. They have office and repair facilities   
in Japan - ads usually found in DOS-V Magazine. Try to call them.
If you HDD is Western Digital - the frequent cause a failure is a burned   
diode on printed board - try to find same type of drive and swap the   
electronic circuitry board - you will need special screw driver - but the   
surgery is safe - board is detachable.

Head cable broken ( Usual cause for HDD failure ). Consequently
can't position any more ==> seeks itself to death ==> therefrom
