tlug: [Q] Job Postings on List

Hello,
someone wrote to me again and asked if it was okay to post job availability
messages to the TLUG list. About 6 months ago, this issue came up
and the response was favorable. The majority of TLUG members that commented
felt it was helpful to learn about job opportunities. I'm confirming
that people still feel this way. Since we have eVote installed, I can
test out the voting capabilities of the list if the opinions are mixed.

Also, someone asked if it was acceptable to try and recruit people at
a TLUG meeting. I responded that the group is pretty relaxed and that
if everyone is having a good time over a beer or something that it was
fine. This is a middle path. Alternately, we could encourage this
type of job announcement when the microphone is passed around during
the introductions. Or, we could discourage it.

The last time this was discussed, people wanted to get the information.
However, since the number of members has increased dramatically, I'm
checking for opinions again. Right now it says on the TLUG FAQ that it is
acceptable to post job notices on the main TLUG list.

Regards,
Craig
