Actually, we just love it in Germany. Did you know that German
companies have a world market share of 80 % in encryption
products ? The nice thing is that foreign companies are very
well allowed to import stuff into the US while US companies are
not allowed to export any. So non US companies can compete their
US counterparts into the ground with them not having much of a
chance. If the US-government wants to send the US into the
crypto stone age they sure are doing the right thing. Actually,
they already made a lot of progress into that direction. Today,
there is practically no US company being able to compete with
the Big Guys on the world market. I fear most of the good crypto
people already left the US ( most probably they are in the UK
now.... ).

BTW. the biggest crypto company here in Germany is Utimaco. Boy,
did they become big ! Their main customers are ( obviously )
banks and e-commerce companies.
