I wonder why nobody uses MidnightCommander for ftp'ing. It
offers all the convenience of local copying for ftp as well -
downloading whole directory trees is as simple and convenient as
downloading a file. It is hard to beat - tried and trusted and
GPL'ed. No messing around with alphaware, binary only and
suchlike. I use it all the time.
