tlug: Linux on laptop

Hallo everyone, 

I finally installed (partially!) Linux on my laptop 
Canon Innova 5500GX together with W95
(english and japanese version). 
I'd like to thank this mailing list for 
the useful help. 

Well, anyway, I do not understand how come that 
Canon is so "Bill Gates-oriented". 

I still have to configure many pieces of 
hardware like Sound blaster and so on 
and Canon does not provide the necessary technical 
informations. 

The only informations are avalaible at

and, when I call then up, they say that there should be enough!
For W95, of course....

Shouldn't they provide a complete description 
of all the hardware, expecially for a so expensive 
laptop?
