Very cool, but it creates a colormap problem for my box with
netscrape. So I'm using

xsetroot -solid midnightblue

Works for me:-)

It seems like this issue is a major oversight on the part of
Welsh and Kaufman - there's no mention of any of this in Running
Linux. (Also nothing in Linux In a Nutshell and only one
paragraph in Sams: Linux Unleashed.) Is this covered in
O'Reilly's X Window System Administrator's Guide? If it is, I
guess I'll order a copy.
