tlug: MS Word <-> TeX?

Hi all,

I am having a lot of problem receiving several different
and incompatible files of MS Word (6.0/95 and 97) in our
group.  I would imagine it the best if we have a converter
which makes Word [95 or 97] to TeX and vise versa.  Such
files can be attached to e-mail as "text" rather than
binary only readable on Windows.

Anyone ever heard of such converter, preferably a freeware?
Japanese support is not necessary.
