  I have looked around the net a bit, without really finding much info
on English OCR for Lignux/Unix.  What is recommended?

  Is there really nothing usable in the way of 'free' Japanese OCR for
Lignux?  It's not a society that exactly encourages much non-commercial 
enterprise, though, is it?
