I'm sort of using a Newton 130 with Linux.  I'd like to get newtonlink
running, but I haven't had the time.

All I really use the Linux box for is downlinking packages to the 130.
Unixnpi is a pretty good little app, and with a little binary hacking the
32kb transfer limit can be removed ...
