I must agree.  Whether it is Debain, RedHat, Slackware, or another
distribution; it's free (for the most part) and most definitely it's
Linux.  I too am excited about the commercial support RedHat seems to be
getting.  I just hope they continue to remember where they came from,
and don't switch in mid-stride.

The glint package is easy.  I've read some of the things you've been
working on, and I find it very difficult to believe you need anyone to
teach you glint.  Although, to be honest...I could live with out glint. 
I like RPM and working from the shell prompt.  I don't need to see the
pretty window show me that I installed or uninstalled something; just
tell me it did it.

Anyway, the --replacefiles seems to have worked.
