tlug: Re: XF86config for Matrox cards

I think you may have struck the right chord. Recently I installed a new
card in a friends computer which had onboard video support. I had to
remove a jumper on his board to disable the onboard video before I could
configure his computer for the new card. Note: He was also using
Windows95 (which we all know has that beautiful "Plug and Pray" or in
some cases "Plug and Pay"), so this may have played a role in the
malfunction, however, I didn't not waste time to evaluate; he has since
converted after seeing the TriTeal CDE running on my Linux box :-)

Although, according to one of the Linux Manuals I have here, recompiling
the kernel should not be looked upon as a tasking, hair pulling
experience, but one in which you will gain indepth knowledge - which you
can in turn impart to the rest of us :-)

Take it easy,

Blaine
