As far as I know, XIM _is_ supported; I just haven't tried it yet.
There are two different XIM options when you compile, depending on
whether you're linking with Motif or not, so I assume it's supported.
When I get around to compiling kinput2, I may try it.

In addition to XIM, there are two lisp-based input methods, one of
which is egg-WNN, which I described above.  I believe the other uses
the quail stuff and canna, but I don't know much about it.
