ISP shouldn't care, except for size.  This is going to depend on the
standard Java libraries vs. the Netscape provided libraries.

In general, I tend to prefer the script since I don't have Java
installed.  For scrolling text, I prefer the applet since I don't have
Java installed :-)

Server side is more portable.  Presumably from a load standpoint
client side loads the server less.
