Perl 5.001m did the trick.  MsqlPerl needs perl 5.  mSQL compiled 
straight out of the tar file.

But you need to compile it into perl, or use dynamic loading.  Since I 
have no dynamic loading, I am recompiling perl 5 now.  I will let you 
know how it goes.
