Thanks a lot!  I didn't quite understand the issue when I first read
about it, but certainly an OS update that prevents access to BIOS
surprised many -- the bug report for this on Ubuntu's bug reporting
system had a lot of angry people.  That is actually what I remember
and what caught my attention at first...
