OK. That went well, and on the log-in screen I can select from
a range of window manager options: Gnome, Gnome Classic,
Gnome (Compiz) & Gnome (Metacity). I've opted to run Metacity
as it's most like what I'm used to in previous releases

Inevitably I have questions about the Japanese support. I installed
IBus-Anthy and after a bit of fiddling I've got Japanese input working
almost correctly, with my preferred Ctrl-Space for toggling it on an off.
The only thing that's not working is using F7 to switch the inputted kana
into katakana. It just gives a beep and the kana vanishes. According to
the docs Ctrl + should cycle the kana inputs, but that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions on this? (It's not a deal-breaker, but it's the last little
detail in getting the basic system into the style I like.)

Cheers

Jim
