You shouldn't stop with a "something like" description of an error

Good evening (or rather night: 1:40 am)
Yes, of course. You are right.
I actually took a picture - I mean with a camera. Can I attach such to a mail here?

Here is the "message":

Welcome to Linux Mint 17.1 ...
Welcome to Linux
Documentation at: http://linux ...
mint@mint ~$

=> I believe these greetings have no particular meaning.
                    Then:
Broadcast message from root@mint
(unknown at 22:51) => that seems to be a time stamp. The time at which I installed the system.

The system is going down for reboot NOW!
ModemManager [1312]: <info> Caught signal, shutting down ...
ModemManager [1312]: <warn> Could not acquire the 'org.freedesktop.ModemManager1' service name

            => That's it.

After I powered it down and up again ... I cannot really see any anomalies ...
If this is a hardware problem, what should / need I look for?
Since it is working ... probably I don't need to do anything, right?

Next thing will be to get past all the other problems that most likely are already waiting for me.
But not "today" any more ...
Thomas
