Yes, this is a bit off-topic, but thank you for taking the time to
explain it to me/us!

I did enjoy skimming over that thread.  Lots of angry people!  But
there are less comments recently; almost none in the past year.
Clearly, Google has chosen to solve the problem another way -- get
users to buy new phones with more memory!

Well, I'm still holding out for the moment.  :-)  At least that allows
me to read books on the train instead of downloading the latest game
that the person next to me is playing!
