Have another system record the audio played in the first system in
proper acoustic environment (simulate your car) and feedback; of
course you'll need some AI, LoL

wait a minute, if all you are trying to archive is fiddling with the
volume, isn't it better to have it done on-the-fly by active feedback
from a microphone? That should eliminate all the guess work in prep
stage and will adapt to the environment. Definitely doable in a car
(power is fine, easier control of the stereo).

Just another wild idea worth 2 yen, may be
