Diplomacy is telling people to go to hell and getting them to thank
you for that. While politics is about to upset everyone equally.

As listadmin you have to have a feeling what the current mood on the
mailinglists is, what people want and how much abuse they can stand.
You try to talk to some who seem like good indicators of the situation
and others who seem to have a big influence on others, with the goal
of understanding what's going on and being able to calm things if
necessary. At times you wield Thors hammer to scare everyone until
they behave as you think is best for the mailinglist.
