If your compiling software and setting up linux from scratch then your
probably doing it wrong. There are many nice versions of linux, some
of which work well.

Red hat training is hard and usually complete overkill. Books are a
bit pointless for the beginner as they are typically very dry reading
and are generally written like a manual.

What kind of things do you do with windows nick? Do you have a
specific goal that you want to achieve with Linux or do you just want
to add it to your CV?
