Re: [tlug] A book to ebook shop?

I've used a service, they did not care what the book was, or even that it was a hard cover.

What I got as a result though was just a very large PDF file made of images. There was an OCR service as an option but it was a joke. A plain text file with ridiculous line-breaking, there was no way to reglue it back into paragraphs. Not even if you are an awk master.

In short, I didn't get an ebook from my books. I'd stay away from it until services that claim to produce specific ebook formats appear. That would indicate that they got the OCR polished enough.

Inspired, in part, by the stupidly massive amount of verbage I own in
print form, I started looking up book digitization.  I heard that they
have quite a few shops like this for Manga, but what about for other
books?

I don't care if my physical books are shredded and unusable by the
end, but I really need the space that they are taking up.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
