It just the packaging seems an unnecessary hassle for really no gain.
We haven't hit compiling issue yet.  I'm just worried about it being
maintained.

Well I got bit by Android not having open src for bluetooth stuff, so
I appreciate the concern.  Still with GPL source and a GNU toolchain
available to build it, I don't know why we should have to maintain the
firmware build system in a Debian package. If we had to do that for
all other systems ...
