The same goes to digital camera market. Basically, Nikon D70 - a 6 Mega Pixel
is enough for me.

Ok, get back to the topic above. I think both software and hardware are more
and more bloated. An average PC user like me only need quite old-fashioned
hardware and software to get the job done.

Another option is going for used Brand Name PCs like IBM or HP (workstation!)
they are rock stable, much cheaper and  just a little slower  than
brand new kumitate PCs.
