Hi Ian,

We (Deloitte) do some data recovery as well, but have no experience
with this exact model. Actually it is a NAS, which complicates things
a bit. Those devices are usually hardware RAID with some kind of
specialized kernel/userland and usually locked. It may be software
RAID (md), however it is usually not.

If your company can afford Jim's professional service or ours - go for it.

If it is not so time sensitive (we are a bit busy now) I can have a
look as well.

All in all, if you want to be on the safe side, assuming all drives
are hardware-wise working, get another set of drives, image each one
with dcfldd (dd is OK) to have a backup and then start looking into
each and figuring what kind of RAID it is. The duplication is VERY
time consuming if the drives are big. but this is the only way to make
sure you don't screw something (plus you'll have a backup set once you
fix it).

If the enclosure is not that expensive - get a new one. PSU failure
may mean badly stressed motherboard, broken flash/firmware, etc.

Calling IOdata may help as well diagnose the problem.

Feel free to call my work mobile (080-2112-3298) if you think I can be of help.

Cheers,
Kalin.
