Very true that the support is better, and you get a bit more hardware
for your money. Not to mention a three-year rather than a one-year
warranty, and a much more lenient battery replacement policy.

Still, the Thinkpads have better ergonomics, at least for me.

But if you want to check it out for yourself, as I did, I have a very
sweet Dell M4400 for sale, with a nice fast dual-core CPU, 1920x1200
screen with LED backlighting, and all sorts of fun options down to the
back-lit keyboard. (And that back-lit keyboard definitely beats the
Thinkpad LED light that shines down on the keyboard--one area where the
ThinkPad loses.) Contact me privately if you're interested.
