yuck.

fsck -y /dev/sdb6 is much better (automatically says yes to all the
fix it questions)

Um, ok it booted, hung and on restart wanted to use an old boot partition

I reinstalled grup to the mbr and it booted fine

Well, 94 minutes to run a check on the disk
smartctl -data -t long /dev/sdb
