Nope, it wouldn't be on-topic for lingo@ either.

Nah, I like lingo@ for what it is. It is pretty low traffic, but I'd
say the signal-to-noise ratio over there is extremely favourable, and
we've had some pretty worthwhile discussions about natural language
there.

I don't think an -ot@ list would really generate enough traffic to
make it worthwhile, which is why...

Add an [OT] to the beginning of the subject line of your reply, and
have at it. People who are not interested in the thread can instruct
their MUA to ignore it, or if they don't have that option, do it
manually.

We've had some living in Tokyo and Japan threads on here before, and
they've been of use to some of our members, so I think we can allow
such discussions from time to time, as long as we do it judiciously.
