I disagree.  I think RMS says lots of things that are more reliable
than stuff from the White House.  I also thing that a lot (but nowhere
near all) of the things said from the White House are true.  But the
White House, and other executives around the world, frequently lie
about all sorts of things.  I don't thing RMS is in the same league.
I can see nothing in this recent article that is obviously false.  But
I understand that it's difficult to believe any political statements
because such statements are so often lies.

I think that the thing RMS gets wrong here is the politics, not the
facts.  He seems to think that "surveillance-mad government" is bad,
while the UK is actually openly very proud to have more CCTV cameras
per capita than any other country.  He also assumes that tracking
people is bad, when most of the UK population doesn't appear to have a
problem with it.  I didn't.
