Yes, it seems that "beta" have a different meaning for Google.
Anyway, even Google calendar is useful or not. What I wonder is, are
we really gonna use it? Don't we have already many things together?  A
PHP home made page, a Wiki using mediawiki, a database for the Wiki,
mailing lists and now maybe thinking about use google calendar too.
Instead to aggregate more things maybe we should think about reduce
and centralize.

You are right, as a LUG we need a calendar.

Why not try it out for a time and see what happens?
