A hard drive? What a luxury! My first computer, an NEC PC-8000 (IIRC)
had a cassette tape drive for storing data. I remember paying an extra
30,000 yen or so to bring the memory up to 64K from the standard 32K.
After that I upgraded to a PC-8800, and paid nearly 100,000 yen for a
dual 5.25" floppy drive unit. *THOSE* were the days.
