But these mysql admin costs are much more than plain text.

Sorry, mate. I don't know how to state my opinion any more clearly than I have done; I think databases are easier to admin than hacky flatfile based solutions that basically implement a "database" without all of ACID.

My point was not Oracle vs Mysql, but DB vs no DB.

I know. And I provided an example of a database that requires a lot of hand-holding, to show that I did not consider you to be coming completely out of left field. I was conceding that you are correct for some databases.
