Isn't that also the case with Ubuntu, which you listed as poor in
multimedia?

Sorry, I thought that Debian at least played DVDs out of the box. When told that it didn't, I became confused, forgot the original question, and said the above. :)

Actually, I have to give a bit of credit to Fedora 6.  So far, it's the
only distro running xorg-7.1 that works with my old Matrox Millenium
G200 video card.  None of the others do, even with the latest
xf86-video-mga update.

Huh? Are you including Gentoo here in the list of distros that didn't work?
