It has to be installed there for it to work correctly. You can't install
Windows on the first drive and then take that drive and mount it as a
secondary. This is because of the dependency of the drive "letter" (C:, D:
etc) on the hardware.

IIRC, ICBW...

Unix obviously doesn't share this shortcoming since you can mount anything
anywhere.
