It does (more precisely, extra drivers load and it does not show up as
a USB storage device on the Mac, so I deduce it does).  But then iPods
do a lot more than simply store.  If you want those features, you need
more than vanilla USB, I guess.

Gotta love these "everybody's right" threads. :-)
