[tlug] Networking with an ADSL router

Jim:
>Uh oh? Why are you talking about AppleTalk instead of TCP/IP?
Screw AppleTalk.

Yes, sorry, I should not have mentioned AppleTalk. Its bad enough trying to get things running without that. My past is showing.

I will try to get a little less befuddled about the simple DHCP vs static, router vs ADSL and get NFS working between the Linux boxes.

I also realized that Linux Rute has a networking section, which I am reading.

Previously I was just so delighted to get my Linux system working with email and web browsing that I ignored all these matters. Now its time to learn how to really make it work.

Thanks everybody, now I think I understand enough to start poking around again. Back to the books and /etc files.

David
