Of course, you are a "geek", and VT100 display capability could be a
"feature".

Sorry, but when my father, 73, sends an email, he does not care about
that. and I will *not* teach this to him, as he likes to receive emails
too, from which many are in HTML.
I have no argument to tell him why he should refuse them.
And I have no argument to ask him to send me an HTML Christmas card he
worked on for many hours in a different format.

In brief, I filter emails on contents, surely not on format (I mean
common ones). Non IT people don't care this kind of discussions, and we
should avoid (all of us) to be too strict on some rules that seem
obvious to us...

I may be wrong, I just hope I am not.
