Re: [tlug] "TLUG, Meet Husi, Husi, Meet TLUG"

Which is one of the several reasons that cross-posting is generally
frowned upon, c.f. Rule #3 in Godwin's Fine Document:

By cross-posting your question to every list you know of, the chances are that several people, usually the very "gurus" on whom you rely for information, will see your message as many times as there are lists to which you posted your question. By the time they've deleted the fourth copy of the message they're going to start being thoroughly annoyed and will most likely disregard your question and move on. This is /not/ what you wanted, is it?

Hi All,

I think that this is terribly outdated. There are so many different GURUS out there now, and a lot who DO NOT visit a vast majority of other lists/forums etc. For excample, I may post here, and the Fedora List/CentOS, and perhaps an online one, www.dslreports.com(UNIX) area, to get to the bottom of an answer. How many people here, actually frequent those lists too. Sure, some may, but, I bet many don't. Anyway, hope this doesn't become a flame war, just wanted to express a view. Cheers.

Mark Sargent.
