Re: [tlug] AMD 64 Bit

I Have 2 System running Linux on 64 bit. hand made
2 x Asus A8N SLI Premium
AMD64 X2 3800+ and 4400+
RAM 2G RAID 0/1
Check it http://mudrii.ath.cx/phpsysinfo/
And work well with new kernel 2.6.13 gentoo-sources pure 64bit
I had some problem but all was fixed.
Problems Internal timer was fixed wit passing to kernel in grub "notsc"
or "noapictimer" check http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5105
Problem with forcedeth nForce NET driver was fixed with Kernel patches
http://www.colorfullife.com/~manfred/Linux-kernel/forcedeth/
All works fine powernow scaling, sensors with lm_sensors and no problem
with compilation for any source even I use agresive CFLAG for my system.
CFLAGS="-march=k8 -O3 -pipe -funroll-all-loops -fpeel-loops -ftracer
-ffast-math -mfpmath=sse -msse3 -fforce-addr"
GCC 3.4.4
For laptop AMD64 Turion is a god choice.
Check some tests:
