Thank you again, this time Keith and Stephen. Your messages will be on 
my hard drive and will be copied to a safe place when I upgrade this 
system, which I assuredly shall do soon. But not very soon: I have a 
deadline looming over me.

What silliness this has all been. SYC amazed me by delivering a new 
year's worth of toner for my HPLJ3P yesterday. If I'd thought it would 
be that fast, I never would have bought any printer (or wasted your time).

If I can't get the new printer to work with SuSE 9.4, Ubuntu 4.2, Vine 
3.2, Libranet 2.9, or whatever, I'll just take it home and try it again 
with Panther. That won't work, so I'll spend a day (and money) upgrading 
Panther to Tiger. Or something. I'm so looking forward to having the 
"free time" to do all this. Not.
