I agree. Actually, I usually tell people that they can get some great
equipment for dirt cheap so long as it's desktop equipment. If they want
a laptop, then I usually tell them to get it new. The best situation is
when there's an older (but still new, not used) model that the store
(and/or manufacturer) want to get off the shelves in a hurry. There were
some squeaky new HP laptops going for about Y65,000 two or three months
back (in Akihabara) and last month there were some Sotec (I don't like
Sotec, but they were new...) laptops going for about Y60,000 at
Yodobashi Camera. Right now, I'm not seeing anything under about
Y120,000 for a laptop. Timing can be a huge factor.....
