The only thing I can tell you is that XEmacs has served me far better
than GNU Emacs ever did, and Dr. Turnbull (for, verily, he is ordained
in The Church of Emacs) is the release manager for XEmacs, and thus is
a font of information regarding it.

Consider XEmacs. :)
